The iStraight System is an innovative hair straightening system ( a professional in-salon service) that transforms frizzy, curly, and wavy hair into straight hair while preserving the integrity of the hair. The iStraight hair system will improve the hair’s feel, softness, and shine while drastically improving hair manageability. There are many other names that permanent hair straightening systems use: Rebonding, Thermal Retexturizing, Thermal Reconditioning, and Japanese Straightening.

iStraight System utilizes three different and progressive strengths to fit the needs of the different hair textures, curl types, and hair conditions of each individual. Max, Normal, and Mild are cream-based for easier application and can also be mixed to create custom strengths if needed.

Over the years, many methods to permanently straighten curly or wavy hair have come and gone. Still, thermal reconditioning (also known as Japanese straightening or permanent hair straightening) withstood the test of time as the prominent and most reliable method.

The iStraight System permanent hair straightening solutions are made with collagen, six natural oils, and cysteamine. Collagen can strengthen hair and increase an individual strand’s diameter, as well as provide structural support. The six natural oils, including avocado, rosemary, and lavender, create shine and provide a moisture barrier to keep the hair from drying. Cysteamine reduces the chance of overprocessing and promotes a stronger return of disulfide bonds.

It’s permanent. Treated hair will be permanently straight. Only the new growth will need to be treated (in about 6+ months – depending on growth rate) after the initial service.

For optimal results, keep the hair straight and dry for 48 hours. After the initial 48 hours, we recommend using the specially formulated B3 Reaction Shampoo and B3 Hair Treatment for maintaining Straight, Shiny, Silky, Beautiful Hair.

No, it doesn’t. iStraight System restructures the hair with thio (Ammonium Thioglycolate) which has been safely used in perms for many decades because it is much milder on the hair than lye (Sodium Hydroxide or equivalent). The difference is that a flat iron is used to straighten the hair before re-bonding into the new straight structure.

The strongest benefits to the iStraight System solutions, when compared to competitors’ products, are the high levels of Collagen Proteins, 7 Natural Oils, Cysteamine, and other proven hair conditioning ingredients.

Collagen is the main structural protein of connective tissues in our bodies and is a major component in hair growth because it fights off free radicals that can affect hair texture.

Collagen can strengthen hair and increase an individual strand’s diameter as well as provide structural support. Additionally, a high cysteamine and/or cysteine concentration reduces the chance of over-processing and promotes a stronger return of disulfide bonds, resulting in healthier-looking hair with a treatment-like finish.

Another benefit to the iStraight System solutions is the use of negative ions in the straightening cream (solution #1) and positive ions in the neutralizer (solution #2). This combination of ions helps promote a stronger bond to restructure the hair properly and keeps the hair moisturized and looking vibrant. All this amounts to incomparably beautiful results: Less Damage, Healthier, Natural-looking, Frizz-free, STRAIGHT, SHINY, SILKY, BEAUTIFUL HAIR!

Almost any type of hair can be straightened with the iStraight System. The iStraight System offers 3-solution strengths to cater to virgin, colored, and highlighted hair types.

You can Google salons that service the iSraight System or the Japanese Straightening near your location. We also recommend that you research the stylist.

It is not recommended, but many stylists have succeeded on pre-relaxed hair that is still healthy. Of course, if it has been a few months, the new growth can be straightened with the iStraight System.

It is not recommended to add color on the same day of getting the iStraight System done as it causes undue stress and damage to your hair. We recommend waiting one week after the service.

The hair will continue to naturally oxidize and re-harden into a stable state over these 48 hours providing long-lasting results. These can leave a permanent mark on the hair, so during the 48 hours after the treatment:

  • Don’t wash hair.
  • Wear hair down at all times.
  • Do not use hair clips, bands, clips, or bobbi-pins.
  • Don’t use hair bands.
  • Do not tie hair into a ponytail.
  • Do not place hair behind the ears.
  • Do not use your glasses to hold the hair back.
  • No excessive sweating/exercise and NO sunbathing, steam rooms, hot tubs/swimming…. etc.
  • Don’t wait longer than 48 hours to wash your hair; otherwise, this would have an adverse effect on the hair.
